This bag of bones and flesh we call a body breaks down at times, allowing us to become aware of an injury or illness. Often, our awareness of the injury smashes the illusion of control we had just moments before we realized we were broken.
When this happens, we tend to feel broken, and we often tend to focus on our weakness. But perhaps it is possible to focus on our strength and health, including our incredible capacity to heal. Healing also happens without control…and often very little conscious influence.
One of the most powerful things we can do to influence the healing process is to simply stay out of its way. Believe in your natural ability to heal and restore. Have faith in your ability to repair. Connect to the natural intelligence that runs your mind and body, and understand that we are miraculous machines that breakdown and heal on a daily basis.
Lastly, get some rest. We heal when we sleep. Make sure you get enough.
